Good evening, our bathroom is now at the stage where we can start protecting the shower area against moisture:

We received the following from our tiler:
PCI Lastogum 25kg (55 lbs)
PCI inside corner 3 pcs
PCI outside corner 1 pc
PCI waterproofing and uncoupling membrane-W membrane 2m (6.6 ft) (for the floor)
PCI Pecitape pipe collar 2 pcs
PCI sealing tape (Pecitape) 15m (49 ft)

My question is especially about the floor area:

Is the PCI waterproofing and uncoupling membrane-W membrane first fixed to the floor using flexible tile adhesive, cut to size precisely, then the PCI corners applied, coated over, the sealing tape applied and fully coated, followed by a second coat after a drying time?
In other words: Is everything built up on the membrane (first the membrane on the floor, then everything else on top)?

Or

Are the corners and areas (wall transitions) applied first,
then the membrane cut to size and laid on top of the corners and tapes?
In other words: Is the floor done last (at the corners where the tile overlaps the PCI sealing tape, bonded with Lastogum)?
And the rest fixed with flexible tile adhesive? Or is the entire membrane bonded with flexible tile adhesive?

I hope you understood my plan and I look forward to your answers.

Kind regards,
Tanja Schmidt

Good morning,

In the shower, the Fermacell Powerpanel TE sloped set is installed, as it is an older building and the floor construction height was only 6cm (2.4 inches).
The drain was routed through the ceiling using a core drill.

Floor tiles: porcelain stoneware
50x15cm (20x6 inches) wet room, slip resistance R12

Wall tiles: porcelain stoneware
50x20cm (20x8 inches)

Tile adhesive:
PCI FT-EXTRA tile adhesive, 25kg (55 lbs) flexible tile adhesive

Grout material:
PCI Nanofug Premium flexible grout mortar

To clarify the process:
First, the waterproof PCI membrane is laid on the floor using tile adhesive with a 6mm (1/4 inch) notched trowel.
The remaining edges, in this case about 2cm (3/4 inch) on each side, are embedded and coated with PCI Lastogum.

Once the “tray” on the floor is fixed, the transition is coated a second time.

Then:
PCI corners are applied, followed by sealing tapes, first vertically, then horizontally.
Afterward, wall junctions with seals are installed and all walls are skimmed.
For the second coating, use a roller to ensure even higher adhesion strength of the tile adhesive.

Best regards,
