I am interested in upcycling projects using Ikea Hemnes furniture and wanted to ask if anyone in the community already has ideas, experiences, or concrete examples of how to creatively and sustainably transform these rather classic pieces.

I would also add: Anyone upcycling their Hemnes furniture should definitely use a suitable stain or paint that is not too thick.
Sometimes, just oiling is enough to allow the wood to breathe.
Additionally, sanding before treatment is very helpful to prevent a blotchy or uneven finish.
