Dear community, I hope you can help me. I am planning to disassemble some IKEA Brimnes furniture because I’m moving. Although the furniture is relatively easy to take apart, I’m concerned that some parts might get damaged in the process. Therefore, I’m looking for specific tips or experiences regarding the disassembly of BRIMNES furniture—perhaps there are certain screws that need to be handled very carefully, or tricks to avoid damage to the black surfaces? Any advice on dealing with the metal runners and composite materials would also be greatly appreciated! I look forward to your suggestions and shared experiences.

Hello Eldar66! I had the exact same concern about scratches, so here’s my tip: If possible, use a rubber mat or old fabric scraps to place the furniture on while disassembling it. Regarding the drawer slides: fully unscrew the screws, but handle the metal parts carefully to avoid bending anything! Also, be sure to keep all the small stoppers, as nothing will fit properly later without them. I managed to avoid any damage last time too – just stay calm, you can do it!
