Hello everyone,
In our condominium unit, the door had to be forced open – unfortunately, the door frame and door were significantly damaged and need to be repaired.
The contractor hired by the property management sent us a quote and said that only a complete replacement of the door including the frame would be economically reasonable.
The prices (net, excluding taxes):
This is a job at the Lower Saxony coast.
The cost for the door unit itself seems quite high to me.
Since I don’t have any experience in this area: Are these prices typical for the market?
Unfortunately, I can’t find the exact model – maybe I’m using the wrong search terms?

- Astra WE door unit (door leaf with frame featuring Smart² edge, SSK 1, cladding width 80mm (3 inches), V 4426 living area, including door viewer) 833 EUR
- Miscellaneous (disposal / travel costs / door hardware) 85 EUR

I wouldn’t pay more than 200 euros for installation. These are not lowball prices.

Fummelbrett!9 Apr 2022 09:13I actually find the price reasonable. In 2016, we paid 1,100 euros for replacing an apartment entrance door in a multi-family building (however, the tenant’s insurance covered this).
In the current situation, it might be difficult, but couldn’t you obtain a comparative quote from a company of your choice?
