Hello everyone,
I am currently working on renovating my condominium. The plan is to install dark oiled parquet flooring continuously throughout the living room, bedroom, and kitchen.
Now I just need to decide between different wood types.
What are your experiences with short-strip walnut parquet? Personally, I find walnut parquet more attractive than acacia, but it is unfortunately a bit more expensive and noticeably softer.
Can you tell the difference, for example, when rolling an office chair around? Does walnut show scuff marks faster than acacia? I don’t want to regret my decision after just six months if the floor already looks very worn :-(
Thank you very much for your advice. It would also be great if anyone has photos of installed examples :-)
Thanks

Bastl88-121 Jan 2016 12:04I’m also a huge fan of walnut. I had a walnut plank floor installed some time ago.
It wasn’t exactly cheap, but it’s beautiful, and I’m very happy with it—I would definitely do it again. Even if you roll around in your office chair, it shouldn’t be a problem. ;-)
Now I just hope I don’t get kicked out of the forum right away because of the link. Otherwise, I’ll take photos of my floor at home and send them to you.
Best regards
