Hello everyone, I am the new member from Frankfurt Hausen.
My wife wants an "American-style refrigerator,"
and she will get one, but it requires a water connection.
Who has experience with this?
Can I use a copper pipe up to the water tap?
If yes, what diameter should it be?
Do I need to use sealing paste or hemp fiber for the seal?
Thanks 😎

The kitchen fitter installed a 4m (13 feet) stainless steel hose under the kitchen, and the plumber added an additional outlet under the sink. I am very satisfied. Best regards

And which model did you finally choose?

We went with one from LG. So far, we have had good experiences with appliances from this manufacturer.
Model: GSL325PVYZ

Purchased for 999.00 euros in another European country (Benelux)

Thank you. Since we come from the same region, I’m now curious where exactly you got it from.

By the way, I’m from Orscholz, where we are currently building as well. So, not far from you.

We bought the refrigerator at Auchan in Luxembourg Kirchberg. It was on sale – but not even in the regular flyer promotion. I just happened to check in for fun that day and was surprised to see it advertised.

Orscholz – probably not with a direct view of the Saarschleife (Saar loop) though. You have a great playground there – my daughter couldn’t get enough of the slides.

Ah, ok. I work in Luxembourg City. However, I didn’t really expect to find a bargain at Auchan.

No, there’s no direct view of the Saarschleife. But it’s very close to the adventure playground you described. Just a 5-10 minute walk away.

We also visit Saarburg quite often: summer toboggan run, up to the castle, bird of prey park when Saint Nicholas comes, ice cream by the waterfall. A lovely little town.

I keep noticing that at Auchan, the fish is especially cheaper (and better / fresher / more varied) than in Germany. Farmed salmon, in particular, can be very affordable at certain times. Just go, pick your fish, and have it filleted. At particular times, it’s MUCH cheaper than in Germany.
Otherwise, keep an eye out.

Why is the bird of prey park only open at St. Nicholas? Is there something special then? We’ve always found the bird of prey park very nice—but my daughter is really into owls.
