Hello,
could you please share your annual electricity consumption along with information about your living area, building envelope (KFW70, 55, etc.), and whether the structure is solid masonry or timber frame?
I just calculated that the air-to-water heat pump will cost us €1300 (approx. $1400) more than the condensing gas boiler with solar. I’m curious about your consumption figures. I’m not really a fan of heat pumps, but with one, we could save on the ventilation system to meet KFW70 standards. If we go with a gas condensing boiler and solar, a ventilation system is absolutely necessary.
What would you do? We keep reading about high electricity bills, so we were actually leaning towards gas for our KFW70 new build (about 200m² (2150 sq ft)).

I do have a brine-source heat pump, but a properly designed air-to-water heat pump would probably have roughly the same running costs as a gas condensing boiler. Maybe (it really depends on the details!) about €50 more expensive in consumption, but you wouldn’t need a chimney sweep.
