HilfeHilfeHello,
Our provider EnbW has increased the price as of January 1, 2023. We have an HT/NZ meter. The current price is 28.76 cents per kWh (previously 16.16) and the base price remains 10.27. The tariff is EnBW NaturWärme Pro. That is about a 70% increase.
What prices are you seeing from 2023 onwards? Is it worth switching providers or is there any way to get a better deal? Apparently, the price for heat electricity is also supposed to be capped.

Ultimately, the investment in renovating the house also increases its value, so it is worthwhile even for the 70-year-old retired couple if you calculate honestly.Calculate honestly? To spend tens of thousands of euros (or even six figures) for the statistically expected 15 more years of life, just to save 1,000 or 2,000 euros annually on heating costs during the remaining lifetime? Most retirees would give you a slap on the back of the neck and send you home with your "honest calculation."Let's be honest. Renovations happen after death or when the owner exchanges their property for a care home place or a small rental or owned apartment. And then the younger generation renovates—not just for energy efficiency but properly.

For years, incapable politicians (have there ever been any competent ones?) and now the citizens have to suffer the consequences again. 🙁
This should only be about prices.
Peak: 36.17 ct/kWh (cents per kilowatt-hour) up from 23.52 ct/kWh — a 53.8% increase
Off-peak: 30.20 ct/kWh up from 17.65 ct/kWh — a 71.7% increase
Basic fee: from €108 per year to €114 per year
And this already includes the loyalty discount of 13% for 13 years.
In 2009, off-peak was 9.x ct/kWh.
~2700 kWh per year: Instead of €53 per month, it’s now €82 per month.

And I was sure I would be spared from the electricity price increases... nope.
Today, environmentally friendly by email: New house rates from 30.9 cents to 40.9 cents and from 8.9 GP to 13.9.
The previous monthly payment was about €150, roughly €50 too high. So, I will probably get a refund this year, but not next year (unless I can convince GreenPlanet Energy to keep the current payment amount).
For the old house, I am now supposed to pay about €530 monthly payment :huch.
But luckily, that’s no longer my problem; from December 15th, I will read the meter for the last time there ;-).
Increase effective from January 1st, 2023 or January 15th, 2023.
Unfortunately, the old oil heating system broke down today – oil tanks are all empty :-(
I didn’t expect that. €1.22 net per liter for 500 liters.
(I almost suspect someone stole oil; the oil shut-off valve on the heater itself was closed!
That has never happened in 15 years. I’ll have to check the video recordings from the past few days.)
So today was really an expensive day for me, and otherwise, things didn’t go very well either :-(
