Hello,

I have an insulated house with a wooden facade (counter battens). Is it possible to safely install an external climate unit on such a wooden facade? Or would the facade not be able to support it?

I’m not sure about this.

What is the exact wall construction, and what exactly do you plan to attach it to? To the counter battens? How are they fixed, and to what?

The masonry, then battens for ventilation, followed by counter battens and insulation plus foil, and finally the wooden facade or slate cladding in the upper area.

These units are quite large and heavy. So far, we have installed them standing at both houses. At the first house, the outdoor unit was placed on the carport, and at the second, we used a concrete base similar to one for a heat pump.

You will probably need suitable heavy-duty threaded rods that extend into the load-bearing wall (masonry). Attach the bracket for the heat pump to these. Also, make sure to properly seal the penetrations again. It’s better to have a professional do this a) for warranty reasons, b) handling heavy equipment at height can be risky. It will need to be connected anyway. Doesn’t the plumbing contractor offer installation services?
