I am considering having a solar panel system installed on my house and hope to get your help and good advice.
I have already researched solar systems but still have a few questions.
What do you think? What is a reasonable price for a 12 square meter (130 square feet) solar panel system? Sorry for the basic questions, I am a complete beginner when it comes to solar panels.
Best regards

ThomasW6912 Aug 2011 12:43Solar thermal system or photovoltaic?I would lean towards solar thermal. 12m² (130ft²) is quite small for photovoltaic.
For solar thermal, it would still need to be clarified whether it is only for hot water or also for heating support. In that case, with 12m² (130ft²), I would again guess it is for heating support.

Mine cost just under 9000€ including self-installation.
My uncle has a Paradigma system and already paid 3000€ just for installation. That’s not necessarily required.

In my opinion, what matters is that the energy yield (kWh/year) is appropriate relative to the investment. Standard off-the-shelf systems are nowhere near this! I have measured systems where the yield was only slightly higher than the electricity consumption for controls and pumps. A truly remarkable investment financed with interest and repayments. With solar thermal systems, the main challenge is the thermal storage of energy in relation to user consumption (energy demand).
