Hello,

After receiving the latest utility bill, I am a bit frustrated. We live in a renovated old building (5 floors, 12 apartments). For 63 sqm (678 sq ft), we pay 170 € in utilities. I find that reasonable. But now we have to pay an additional 460 €, making a total of 208 € in utilities. That equals 3.30 € per sqm (about 0.31 € per sq ft).

Our heating is supplied by district heating. Only one radiator in the living room was on, and occasionally one in the home office. Never in the bathroom, never in the bedroom, or anywhere else. For those one and a half radiators, we are supposed to pay 1500 €. That doesn’t seem right!

In our building, there is suspicion that the system isn’t working correctly. From top to bottom, the costs increase. We live on the 2nd floor. Those on the ground floor are supposed to pay 700 € extra.

Also, our radiator does not get properly warm.

Could it be that more heat passes through our system than we actually use? I would be very grateful for any advice.

I recalculated.. 105 € heating costs only (hot water excluded) for 63 sqm (680 sq ft)? A bit high, isn't it?

What do the comparison values from the previous year look like?
Was the winter longer or harsher?
How much have energy costs increased?

For example, gas prices have gone up by about 20% (twenty percent) here over the last 2 years.
