Hello everyone,

Our builder has planned for two inspection chambers with a diameter of 400mm (16 inches). One for rainwater and one for wastewater.

Are these really necessary? And what are the costs including installation?

In addition, we also have a transfer chamber with a diameter of 1000mm (40 inches)...

We are supposed to cover the costs for the inspection chambers, so my question is whether they are truly required...

Then, according to the written requirements, rainwater and wastewater must be kept separate.

If the written requirements specify the separation of both types of water, you will need two inspection chambers, each costing approximately €600-800 including materials and installation. These chambers are the homeowner’s responsibility and are part of the incidental building costs. In case of a potential error report, you will be glad to have a location on your property where inspection is possible.

Kind regards

I’m wondering what exactly the I-ducts are for. We already have an inspection chamber. In case of error messages, you can check there as well, right, or am I mistaken? And in which "textual provisions" is it stated that we are required to have the I-ducts?

If I may revisit this thread: Are these inspection chambers actually mandatory or just recommended? When rainwater and wastewater need to be separated, should there be one chamber for rainwater and another one for wastewater?
Thank you!

Thanks!

We don’t have an inspection chamber for rainwater—only for wastewater. The rainwater is infiltrated on our property—the chamber for this is buried. If problems occur there, we would have to demolish our garden shed...
