Did you wear everything only once before washing it?

Sounds like you’re starting to do what others have always done.

I hope you realize how cringe-worthy that sentence is.

But good that it’s working now.

I also wear clothes once and then wash them…

This is because this world is quite rare, even for engineers like me...
And engineers are already a minority. So we are talking about a rare special case within a small group.

Our fleet is gradually being converted to battery electric vehicles (BEVs) as well. We have now taken a closer look at a charging invoice. The vehicle used by our managing director covers 80,000 km (50,000 miles) per year. Most of the charging is billed at €0.79. In this case, diesel would probably be cheaper. Other vehicles refuel a lot at the company, which of course makes sense. Still, others are mainly used on construction sites, where a lot of electrical wiring is installed, but there are no charging stations. They are now trying to find a solution for charging at home.

We have had a few test BEVs in our company fleet for a while now. BEVs have been generally available for order for the past three months, but at terms that are completely unattractive. The few hundred long-distance drivers, with a driving profile similar to MachsSelbst, have been excluded from the start. But even for the rest, I see little interest because the detailed calculations clearly show the outcome. Our fleet manager and management simply are not interested in pursuing this.

There are corporate cards with a provider-independent flat rate of around €0.50-0.55 per kWh (kilowatt-hour) – also independent of charging power. This way, drivers are not limited in their choices, and costs are reduced.

Nowadays, employees are basically forced to use BEVs, except for field staff.

Of course, this does not apply to our CEO, who, after three years of using a BEV, got fed up with the technology and treated himself to a gasoline car again.

Please keep in mind that maintenance costs will be significantly lower, and there will be practically no motor damage.

For example, my last Multivan "wore out" the brakes – which is no surprise given its weight. An electric vehicle (EV), on the other hand, only needs new brakes if the driver forgets to use them occasionally. Otherwise, the brakes last longer than any other part of the car.
