Hello, I have had the Weishaupt split heat pump LS 8 B R E since July, so far only used in summer mode. Today I switched it to heating mode, and the heat pump cycles on and off 6 times between 4 a.m. and 11 a.m. What options do I have to reduce this cycling?

I am new to heat pumps. It is a 120m² (1,292 sq ft) mid-terrace house with 9 radiators, no buffer tank installed. What settings can I use to minimize the heat pump cycling? What settings do you use in the transition period? I would appreciate any tips.
Best regards

NewHouseAppear12 Oct 2023 14:53Unfortunately, I can’t help you, but I am interested in the tool you are using. I have the exact same heat pump but, to be honest, haven’t really explored it much yet except for adjusting the heating curve.
How can you get that? 🙂

KarstenausNRW12 Oct 2023 16:33Where do you live that you already have to turn on the heat pump? Without the heat pump, it’s still over 22 degrees Celsius (72°F) inside here (Lower Rhine region). And in southern Germany, people are currently sitting in beer gardens wearing shorts. I think we can manage another 1–2 weeks without heating and without sweaters in the apartment.
Regarding your question: cycling during the transition period is normal and not a problem. Although many heat pumps shouldn’t even start yet because of the temperatures.

How do you get that? 🙂 This is a screenshot from the WEM portal by Weishaupt. 5-year price around 75 €

Regarding the question: cycling during the transition period is normal and not a problem. Many heat pumps shouldn’t even turn on yet because of the temperatures. It’s not a must but more of a cautious approach to get to know the heating control system. I live near Karlsruhe, and the last 7 nights the temperature never went above 15°C (59°F). So I tested it. The coming days, except Friday, are expected to be quite cool here (daytime temperatures no higher than 13°C (55°F)), which is why I asked about the settings.
