Dear house-building community,

We want to extensively green our carport. It is basically already prepared with an EPDM membrane. This is something we plan to tackle sometime in the future. We have heard that it’s not very complicated, and since we are not under any time pressure, we want to do it ourselves—next year or the year after.

Now the information gathering begins, and I wanted to tap into the collective knowledge here.

Has anyone done this before? Which suppliers can you recommend? What should we definitely pay attention to? Etc.
Did you use seeds or plants? How long does it take until it actually looks good?

Looking forward to your feedback!

I would wait until summer to see what develops. At the moment, even the best surfaces don’t look any better.

What’s wrong with the moss? It actually performs the functions a green roof is supposed to have.
I would only remove the weeds and tree seeds.

Um, nothing. So, it fits well then. Can I just add the Bauder mix to it?

Who’s looking at that?

There are also people who want to do something for nature. 😉
And from the upper floor, you often have a view of the garage.

That's how it is. No insect benefits from a concrete roof or gravel roof ,-)

I often like to show my sedum roof. However, I installed sedum mats that were at least 95% covered with plants.

If you want to use the sedum mixture, you need to remove the moss first. Then spread the mixture and work it in slightly. Keep it moist for the first period.
