HalloClarissaDoes anyone else have their heating system (air source heat pump) located in an unheated basement (exterior wall insulated, U-value 0.35)?
In this case, does the basement need to be fully included in the building energy regulation calculation (building permit / planning permission)?
Background: The basement builder and the structural engineer responsible for the heat calculation disagree on what exactly needs to be considered.
Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

We also have the heating system installed in the (otherwise) unheated basement. In our case, only the basement ceiling is insulated, but I am still waiting for the energy consultant’s documentation. How are your basement exterior walls constructed?

How are your basement exterior walls constructed? Our energy consultant only calculated the building energy law for the thermal envelope and noted that the heating system is located outside the thermal envelope in the basement. The basement contractor does not accept this and insists that the entire basement be included in the building energy law calculations. This is driving me crazy.HalloClarissa schrieb:
