ᐅ Robotic Lawn Mower or Traditional Lawnmower? Experiences?

Hello everyone,
now that our house and outdoor areas are completed, we are considering whether a robotic lawn mower or a traditional lawn mower would be better for our relatively small lawn area (about 250 m2 (2,700 sq ft)). I understand there is no “right or wrong” choice, but rather personal preferences on this topic. However, I would be interested in your experiences as a small source of inspiration, especially if you have tried both options. Why do you use a robotic mower or a traditional mower, and what do you see as disadvantages or drawbacks of the other option based on your experience?
At the moment, we are leaning towards a traditional lawn mower because of the small lawn size, but we are still unsure whether to go for an electric mower with a power cable (we have two outdoor sockets available) or a battery-powered one.
I appreciate any experience you can share :-)

If you want a Wembley-quality lawn and don’t want to become a slave to it, get a robot mower.
And no, I don’t have one. In front of the house, I only have 20 sqm (215 sq ft), which is manageable with mowing once or twice a week. I use my neighbor’s cordless mower. Since this year, I’ve also been mowing their lawn (about 350 sqm (3,770 sq ft)).
Behind the house, it’s green, but it has nothing to do with a proper lawn. 😀
What are you planning for yours?

It depends on the area. I have 250m2 (2690 sq ft) of lawn here, and you definitely don’t want to mow that by hand every week. It easily takes an hour, and the worst part is dealing with the grass clippings.
There’s no problem with hedgehogs, of course, since the mower runs during the day.
A robotic lawn mower is fantastic.

My dad mows 1200m2 (13,000 sq ft), a bit exhausting, but he can still manage that at 79 years old. Although with a petrol mower.

How many times do I have to say it? Modern robotic lawn mowers have enough sensors and safety shut-off features to prevent them from endangering animals and children.
We have a robotic mower on our garage roof with just over 100m² (1,076 ft²). Another one runs on the larger area.
When the weather is nice, I sometimes use one of my other mowers.
It rains here almost every day. Without robotic mowers, the situation would already look bad. The robots also operate in the rain.

Would you like to see pictures of hedgehogs whose faces were severely injured by robotic mowers? These animals are brought to rescue centers almost daily. Unfortunately, not all robotic mowers have these safety features, or they don’t work reliably enough. If you use these devices, please avoid operating them at dusk and during the night.
