Hello everyone,
We have purchased a very affordable, already serviced plot of land. Now we are looking for a building contractor.
Our budget is quite limited at €230,000. We are considering a single-family house of around 110m² (1,184 sq ft).
Do you have any experience with contractors who build turnkey or technically completed homes within this price range? Or would you recommend saving for another 1-2 years to make the dream possible?
Best regards,
Felix

Even our penny-pincher @Nordlys gives up at 230,000 including ancillary construction costs.
With an auction, ownership takes some time anyway, right? It takes a while until your name is registered in the land registry. So I wouldn’t rush into any decisions and would use the time to save some money.
How much equity do you have for self-building?
Or is 230,000 euros yours and not the desired loan?

The house includes electric roller shutters, underfloor heating with a heat pump, many large windows, tiled bathrooms and guest toilet, and a large walk-in shower. However, there is no ventilation system. You need a lot of discipline during the selections to stick to the standard options.

Or is the 230,000 € your own money rather than the desired loan? Hey,
230,000 € is the amount we want to take as a loan. We have some savings left. We want to use those for the kitchen, etc.
