The weather is expected to turn quite unpleasant, and in some areas, ice rain could actually cause a few power poles to topple. I don’t think this will happen, but just for fun, here’s a question:
How do you prepare for a 48-hour power outage at -5 to -10°C (23 to 14°F)?
It never hurts to think about this kind of situation, even if it’s unlikely.

MontyPython8 Feb 2021 21:07As we are currently in the process of building our house, the question arose whether we should plan for a connection for a diesel generator (backup power generator). Has anyone implemented something like this? The energy supply is unlikely to become more reliable in the coming years...
No. If it takes longer and is regional, organizations like THW, the military, or the fire department will set up generators, gyms, fire stations, or parish halls as emergency shelters.
If it lasts a long time and is widespread, the lack of power is probably the lesser problem.

The worst thing that can happen is losing your internet connection. Well, just quickly download a few episodes from Prime/Netflix onto your tablet, and you're prepared.
I just checked on my tablet: 4 episodes of Bibi and Tina available offline. Good thing I’m not expecting a power outage 🙂
