Hello,
I will try to get straight to the point.
Can someone briefly explain the differences between what I would call "prefabricated wooden houses," like Scanhaus Marlow, Danwood, Massahaus, etc., and wooden houses from networks like 81fünf that promote traditional carpentry companies from the local region?
What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Thank you very much.

The common denominator is a timber frame. The rest varies. The wall structure you mentioned is not “cost-conscious.” Ask five small carpentry companies, and you will get different constructions. Having a separate installation cavity is a good idea. Without it, I wouldn’t have chosen a timber frame. Some charge an extra fee for that.

We are now waiting for the quote based on our design and will take it from there.
We are quite impressed because the company works with almost all of our personal favorite tradespeople from our region, whom we would have also chosen if we hired them directly. And if the interpersonal relationship also works well, that would be a positive factor for peace of mind. Even if the final price in the bottom right corner might be a bit higher.

Insulation entirely without any kind of ETICS (plastic-based external thermal insulation composite systems)In "prefabricated houses," instead of external thermal insulation composite systems, there is practically an integrated insulation system, somewhat like insulation placed between rafters.joschua_85 schrieb:
For my understanding, I just wanted to know if there is a huge difference between the mostly regional companies and the "big players," and if it’s just marketed differently? Or if they really are two completely different things. The difference between the big names and the regional providers is generally that the latter are not corporate investors or franchise systems, but owner-operated and therefore have to care more about their reputation, since it is not managed by legal departments. For traditional masonry construction, I would therefore prefer regional companies. In the prefabricated house sector, unfortunately, small manufacturers are often not much more advanced than the big players were fifty or sixty years ago. With exceptions (notably Wirlebenhaus and Staudenschreiner), I remain skeptical of the smaller timber builders.https://www.instagram.com/11antgmxde/

If you mean CNC-controlled systems, those are available as well. They produce a maximum of 10 houses per year, which to me means there is no rushing. And above all, regarding reputation, I actually see this as an advantage when it comes to workmanship, regardless of the method used.
For small projects, and I mean really small, I would rely on reputation. The smaller builders work to the best of their knowledge and conscience, while the larger ones have more experience and more staff specialized in specific areas. The ones you mentioned cannot be compared to the smaller builder. The smaller builder offers a higher quality and more expensive construction.

hampshire16 Aug 2020 21:44There are many detailed differences if you want to build not just with wood, but also using “bio” materials. Even the ingredients in OSB boards can make a significant difference. Insulation materials were already mentioned. Those who do not simply settle for the standard quality norms but rather have extended considerations for healthy living will delve deeply into this or look for a specialized supplier.
