Hello everyone,

Currently, my heating contractor is offering a Novelan brine-to-water heat pump. To qualify for the 10,000 Houses Program (Bavaria), the storage tank must meet the following requirements:
- Thermal storage with at least 30 liters per kWthermal effective volume
- Storage insulation with heat retention loss S < 8.5 + 4.25·V^0.4 or U-value ≤ 0.20 W/m²K
- The main criterion for the storage tank’s eligibility for funding is its heat retention loss. Under the 10,000 Houses Program, storage tanks with an energy efficiency class A or better are supported.

Question for you: Are there storage tanks with the above specifications that can be combined with a Novelan SIC 12.3 and have an approximate volume of 400 liters (105 gallons)?

My heating contractor can’t find any.

Thanks in advance.

There are quite a few options.
You can check with the manufacturer OEG or Thermic Energy.

We sourced our 200L (53 gallons) storage tank from them for the 10,000 Houses Program back then.

I quickly found two for you (with energy efficiency ratings A or A+):

EU energy label refrigerator: Class A, 58 W, 493 L; colored scale A+ to F.

EU energy label refrigerator with classes A+ to F, 40 W, 415 L

Alternatively, there is a good overview available from C.A.R.M.E.N. EV:
Search online for "Marktübersicht Wärmespeicher Carmen-ev" and open the PDF there.

However, all of these tend to be relatively expensive.

Thank you very much. I will start researching right away.
