Hello everyone,

My husband and I are planning to start building in the spring.

We are currently looking for a plot of land and want to find a suitable one by spring. If that doesn’t happen, we will wait a few more months. We’re in no rush...

Now to our question. We are planning a single-family house with a basement and a double garage. However, we are still undecided about the building material.
A prefabricated house is out of the question for us.

We have already gathered some information here and there but still cannot decide.

Could you please list the pros and cons?

Thanks in advance

Aerated concrete (Ytong) vs. honeycomb bricks
... Aerated concrete (Hebel or Ytong) ... clearly and definitely ... there is nothing better for you ...

How can you know that? You really can’t make such a general statement. You don’t even know the requirements that need to be met.

Can’t anyone tell us anything about this?
At the moment, we are leaning towards bricks.

Well, Baustratege, we would like to have reasons both for and against it...
