Hello everyone,

For several days now, the water in my bathtub has not been draining properly.
I have already tried using a plunger and a drain snake. However, I can’t insert the snake very far into the drain, as it won’t go in completely.

When I run the water in the sink, it flows through a pipe into the bathtub’s drain.
Also, when I run the washing machine, all the water drains through the washing machine’s drain into the bathtub.

That shouldn’t normally happen.
I have noticed that some sewer work seems to be taking place on our house. The gutters have partly been replaced, and instead there are “drain bags” hanging down to the ground.

Could this be the cause of the drainage problem I am currently experiencing?

Best regards

If the coil cannot be inserted very far, it is likely that there is a blockage in the drain. I would focus on that first. If work is already being done on the sewer line, simply ask the workers what it might be.

Problem solved!

I bought a regular drain cleaner (something like Mr. Muscle) and poured the entire bottle into the drain, letting it sit overnight.

The next day, I tried again to remove the remaining debris in the drain with a drain snake. However, when the snake could no longer be pushed further and there was no dirt visible on the snake, I simply used a plunger for 10 minutes.

The water is draining normally again.
