Exactly, Steffen. Seriously, for my data privacy I only use Apple devices, even though they are expensive.

Everything here is bitten into but worm-free. And I have Siri turned off.

Since 1990, I have been using Apple devices — back then, I didn’t understand PCs very well. Of course, these devices nowadays also have “worms,” as you so nicely put it, Yvonne.

Also pay attention to the apps and user profiles on web portals that use integrated functions. For example: cookies with location information are stored not only on the device but also in user profiles. It is now possible, for instance, to track who visits a store within a certain time after clicking on an online advertisement or website. The data is usually anonymized — but to do this, clear data is needed in the first place.

It is no coincidence that smartphones used in business environments are either fully encrypted models from lesser-known manufacturers or from Apple.

I have had many discussions about Alexa and similar devices, both privately for my own home and on behalf of our clients. They always ended with the decision that these devices would not be allowed into the house. I am not particularly paranoid when it comes to managing data, but using those devices feels almost reckless.

In the KNX environment, there are now reliable offline voice control systems that actually work very well.

Name one!!!! Either you have no idea about KNX or Alexa (or both!)!!! This statement is just completely... well, let’s leave it at that....

I'll even name two for you, dear: realKNX and Synohr. But you’re probably right, I definitely have no clue about KNX. Anyone who uses a lot of exclamation marks is always right anyway, sorry. Good grief

My goodness. Are you sleeping poorly? Not getting enough oxygen in the morning? Did Alexa order the wrong medication again? Is nobody talking to you except Alexa? I never said they are as good as Alexa and the others, whose speech recognition is undoubtedly excellent. But that comes at the cost of extensive data collection, and there are definitely "serious" alternatives—nobody claimed they are equivalent. I don’t like Synohr either, especially since it looks really ugly. realKNX has more potential in that regard. When exactly did you have that installed? But what am I even saying, it seems like you invented those devices yourself. I’m now fading with awe, since I have no clue, especially not about KNX.

On the internet, everyone still makes a fool of themselves. Have a nice weekend, Herzje
