Hello everyone,

After careful consideration, we have decided to build a house using the "Lego" principle. Unfortunately, we have found very few suppliers online (actually only one) that also offer some level of support. It is important to us to always have a contact person available and to have someone present during the wall casting process. So far, we have only been able to find the company Argisol for this.

Do you know of any companies in the northern German region that offer this building method?

When I look at websites like VariantHaus or similar, it seems they only provide the materials, and the builder is then left completely on their own.

Construction supervision is already a good start, and your time estimate seems realistic.

Hello, I have definitely decided to go with the system, as I want to achieve the highest possible level of self-sufficiency. However, I am still missing the right plot of land. In the meantime, I have already spoken with several people who have had good experiences with the system.
I will report back when it gets started.

Best regards

Self-sufficiency with insulated concrete forms? Now you’ve got me curious...

He doesn't want to use any gas and is hoping these systems will mean he hardly needs to heat at all. He definitely wants water from a well, electricity from solar panels, and plans to bury his waste. As someone aiming for self-sufficiency, he also intends to have minimal contact with other people.

I believe that energy self-sufficiency is mainly related to the energy providers. Unfortunately, this isn’t necessarily determined by the building materials.

You can also build a plus-energy house with a timber frame construction. The same applies to red brick or aerated concrete blocks (e.g., Ytong). Yes, the insulating properties of Neopor are significantly better per square centimeter. But the external wall isn’t the only factor.
There are many other aspects to consider:
- Roof overhang
- Floor slab insulation
- Roof insulation
- Windows
- Ventilation concept
- House orientation
- etc.

I also want to build with Neopor blocks, but the main reason is the concrete that I actually want to use. The Neopor layers serve mainly as additional insulation and space for wiring and so on.
