ᐅ Swedish-style House – Seeking Experiences

Hello,
we are planning to build and are strongly leaning towards a Swedish-style house. Depending on the supplier, we really like the different concepts. A short construction time is also an important factor for us.
Question: What are your experiences with Swedish-style houses?
And: Maybe someone can recommend a supplier based on the idea: "I would build with them again."

Thanks for your answers
Greetings from the Allgäu

I’ve heard that with an authentic Swedish house—meaning one that is prefabricated in Sweden and then imported here—the measurements don’t follow the German standard. I just noticed this while reading the thread about the windows. This also applies to the doors.
Doing the work yourself isn’t necessarily cheaper in this case. It might affect other standards as well?!
Otherwise, I find Swedish houses very cozy in appearance and think it’s a great choice to build one.
Near us, Scanhaus Marlow (a German company) has erected one like this, although without a porch. It’s a nice gable roof house painted wine red. I like it. However, the windows look rather small.

When I was a child, people in SE still drove on the left side and did not use the metric system, but rather inches and other imperial units. Some remnants of this may still be found in house construction.

Regarding Scanhaus Marlow Marlow: M.W. produces them near Rostock and near Malmö. The owners are German.

Thanks for the initial replies and tips.
The point about the gutter is interesting; I’ll keep an eye on that.
Does anyone know the manufacturers Begus and Aladomo? They are said to be good, but in the south, these steel houses just aren’t as common.

Why go far away? In the Allgäu region, there are many excellent timber frame builders, so I wouldn’t necessarily choose a supplier located hundreds of kilometers away. The style you want can also be created by builders from the Allgäu.

If you want to keep an eye on the gutters, also pay attention to Talis... if I remember correctly, none of theirs come without an extra charge.

The problem with manufacturers from the Allgäu region is the construction time and also the price. I am already in discussions, but construction periods (from planning to moving in) of 10–16 months... where is the advantage of a prefabricated house? It needs to be much faster – and that’s why I’m considering the SH providers.

Climbee is right, the Allgäu manufacturers can deliver the style as well. I still have one more option in the shortlist, but I think it will fail because of the price.
