Alexa, only over my dead body—this house will remain largely free of technology

But absolutely zero!

Obstlerbaum25 Oct 2018 09:16What Amazon does with the data is only a small part of the problem. The device can be hacked, allowing the attacker to use the microphones and connected actuators.

Steffen8026 Oct 2018 09:56@WilhelmRo what exactly does this have to do with a technical background (regarding Alexa!)?!!!
@Obstlerbaum so, you don’t use a smartphone or online banking either? I see.
When will someone finally provide facts to support the claim "Alexa is listening in"? So far, there’s only hot air and conspiracy theories here...

In my case, it was electrical engineering.
There was a semester on "networks."
Communication was traced there as well (for example, using Wireshark).
What you also learn through programming in C / C++ / C# / operating systems / databases I won’t go into here.
So don’t always assume everyone is less knowledgeable than you ... most people aren’t.
