Hello everyone,

I am undecided between the Gardena models R40, R70, and Smart Sileno.

I have about 100m² (1,076 sq ft) of lawn area. I would also like to monitor/control the system using Loxone. What are your experiences? What advantages does the Smart Sileno offer?

Is this what is meant first?

That’s nonsense! We have the Sileno City 500, and the lawn area is 400m² (4,300 sq ft). It only mows every other day, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (so effectively just 2 hours). We have 14 trees/shrubs as obstacles on the lawn, and it handles them effortlessly. These claims of double performance are just from the manufacturer trying to get you to spend more money.

And how satisfied are you with it?
Currently, I also have the McCulloch rob on my list on Amazon, which seems pretty good.

How long have you had the mower?
The specifications are not nonsense and actually refer to continuous operation.
At the moment, our Husqvarna Automower only needs to run once a week to keep the lawn nicely short. Last year or in spring, it had to run daily for 6-8 hours. With the current weather, nothing is growing.

I can fully recommend Husqvarna. We have an AM 420 for 1300m² (14,000 sq ft).

How does the robot know whether it needs to run or not?
Is there some sort of sensor evaluation implemented?

With Husqvarna, you can of course set the mowing times yourself, specifying when it is allowed to mow. Additionally, most models have a "weather timer," which should more accurately be called a "growth timer" or something similar. This timer measures the resistance during mowing. When the average resistance on a mowing day has significantly decreased, it knows it can finish for the day. You can then adjust this growth timer in three different sensitivity levels.
