Just a quick question... The painters didn’t mask off the windows at our place, so they’re really dirty. We’ve started cleaning them now, and it takes about 2 hours per window... At this rate, we’ll be busy for weeks :-/

Has anyone else had the same problem?

My response was primarily directed at YPG, who had no chance of receiving a warning.

Why YOU? – I would drag them back to their disgraceful crime scene by the ears, and afterwards, they should write a hundred times: Painter’s tape is right next to the checkout at the DIY store.

Claims and insisting on remediation.
Ours were also extremely dirty.
Did you build with a general contractor?

No, everything will be contracted separately. I will give him a call. But as it is, he is the boss and a friend of an acquaintance... You have to approach this diplomatically.

It will likely be similar anyway; the responsible party must repair the damage.
It’s not just the labor time, but also who will cover the cost for scratches.

If the work or the painter was contracted according to VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures), in my opinion, they are responsible for protecting the work of other trades.
