Hello,
we are planning to install hardwood flooring in the living room and came across the HARO anniversary promotion. They currently offer a beautiful oak Jubilé country plank 2V parquet at €39.95 / m² (approximately $39.95 / 10.76 sq ft) (formerly €49.95). The flooring has a total thickness of 12mm (0.47 inches) with a wear layer of 2.5mm (0.1 inches).
We really like the look, but I have read several times that HARO floors have had many quality issues in the past. The retailer apparently is not aware of this.
Question: Does anyone here have HARO flooring and how satisfied are you with it? It would be ideal to hear experiences with this exact product.
Alternatively, we are also considering Meister parquet -> Premium PS 300 lively oak 8028 1-strip (strip parquet) 4V at just under €45 per m² (approximately $45 / 10.76 sq ft), which we also find to be a great price. This flooring is 13.5mm (0.53 inches) thick and also has a 2.5mm (0.1 inches) wear layer.
So I think both floors can be refinished at least once. Since we have underfloor heating, we would glue the flooring down. Or would it be better to use adhesive in a different way?
Do you have any experience with these brands and/or these specific floors?
Thanks in advance

For underfloor heating, the floor should be glued down. I wouldn’t necessarily agree with that anymore nowadays. The supply temperatures of underfloor heating systems are quite low now.
And anyone who has had to remove adhesive after a few years or decades will be grateful not to have to do that anymore.
We installed the floor as a floating system and are satisfied with it so far. The HARO customer service said that this should not be a problem. Apparently, it also depends on the type of parquet.
@Nafetsm: We have the Haro parquet "4000 Town & Country Country House Plank Oak Sauvage structured 4V Naturally oiled plus" and have been very satisfied so far (after about three quarters of a year).
I wouldn’t rely on being able to sand a floor with a 2.5mm wear layer twice, especially if it was installed as a floating floor. Because of the floating installation, the floor can shift under the sanding machine, causing the joints to open up. So far, I have always fully glued engineered wood flooring, which was much easier, and the walking feel is much better compared to floating installation. However, if possible, I would prefer to install solid hardwood flooring. This is also glued down, then sanded, and finally oiled. It takes a bit more work, but you get a truly durable floor, and it isn’t expensive either.
Best regards
Sabine
