Hello everyone,
We have now been living in our house for two months in a new residential area with two new streets, which were fully developed two years ago. Until now, the two streets were not listed anywhere, Google Maps did not recognize them, and in all contracts I checked, I was unable to select the new street online, or the entry was declared invalid.
Even with our electricity provider, which has the address as the delivery address on the contract, I couldn’t enter the new address as the billing address online; this was only possible through their hotline.
So far, this hasn’t been a big issue. However, now that I wanted to change a mobile phone contract, the service representative said that as long as the address is not in their system, they cannot set up a contract for it. That’s where it becomes frustrating.
Who is responsible for registering new streets with which authorities, and whom should I contact to check on the status? Does anyone know this situation? After all, houses here have been inhabited for over a year now, and by now around 10 to 12 families should be living here.
Thank you!

Building insurance was also a topic for us. We needed it fairly quickly, but online it was impossible because the street was missing. I think PayPal was also somewhat problematic. About a year after the first residents moved in, the street was available on most platforms.

By the way, you can mark the change/addition yourself on Google. The review usually takes 1–2 weeks. We did that as well, and after that, all our suppliers, freight forwarders, etc. were able to find us 🙂.
The first to have our address with map location even before that was a Dutch flower company, which sent us advertising with a map showing our exact position, at a time when even DPD hadn’t located us yet.
We had the same problem — a new street that nobody knew about. So we added the street together with the house number using Google Map Maker.
However, it was not approved. According to the admin, the street does not exist. I contacted the administrator again, providing photos and explaining that it was added later to a residential area that is already 5 years old.
Now it is even available on OSM.
