Hello everyone,
We have now been living in our house for two months in a new residential area with two new streets, which were fully developed two years ago. Until now, the two streets were not listed anywhere, Google Maps did not recognize them, and in all contracts I checked, I was unable to select the new street online, or the entry was declared invalid.
Even with our electricity provider, which has the address as the delivery address on the contract, I couldn’t enter the new address as the billing address online; this was only possible through their hotline.
So far, this hasn’t been a big issue. However, now that I wanted to change a mobile phone contract, the service representative said that as long as the address is not in their system, they cannot set up a contract for it. That’s where it becomes frustrating.
Who is responsible for registering new streets with which authorities, and whom should I contact to check on the status? Does anyone know this situation? After all, houses here have been inhabited for over a year now, and by now around 10 to 12 families should be living here.
Thank you!

The land registry office of the municipality / city should provide a solution here. I’m not sure how quickly it will be processed.

Ultimately, time is the only thing that heals all wounds. Keep insisting on the address and provide a copy of the updated identity card.

As a workaround, you could use the old address with a mail forwarding order. Of course, that won’t help for a DSL connection at the new residence, but a mobile phone contract should not be a problem?!
Telecommunications is not an issue; everything works fine. However, mobile service was not possible. O2 was already going to charge me €1.39 for an address verification because they noticed the move. But I couldn’t change my address, and there is no phone hotline you can actually reach…
I marked it on Google Maps last week.
