ᐅ What do you think about leather armchairs?

I believe the quality of the furniture also plays a role. My 6-year-old microfiber sofa (I somehow forgot to mention it earlier) is quite worn, and not all stains and dirt come out. In addition, cat hair is troublesome (our cats have very fine hair) – it cannot be vacuumed off but has to be brushed out with a special tool. However, reupholstering is definitely much cheaper than with leather.

I can only recommend a leather sofa, especially if you have small children. When I think about how many times my 5-month-old daughter has already spit up on the sofa... with a leather sofa, you don’t see any traces at all. Just wipe it once and it’s gone.

I am not the biggest fan of leather sofas, especially in summer. When it’s a bit warmer, you tend to stick to them... There is one exception: leather armchairs and sofas in the Chesterfield style. However, the rest of the surroundings also need to match.

I think leather armchairs generally look nice, but I don’t have any myself. In my opinion, the disadvantages outweigh the benefits.

First of all, they are more expensive.
In winter, they feel cold; in summer, too hot. As mentioned before, you tend to stick to the surface.
If you have children or pets (or are a bit clumsy yourself), the leather can get damaged very quickly.
And then you really regret it (considering the price).

For these reasons, we stick to synthetic fabrics.
I really appreciate my sofa with a removable fabric cover—chocolate or red wine stains are easily cleaned professionally.
And you can relax on it with kids around without any worries. 😉

In summer, people sweat, and in winter, they freeze their rear end off.

Our living room is always about the same temperature thanks to the heating, within plus or minus 2°C (35.6°F).
