if you take care of your furniture, it will still look good even after years; this applies to every material. Leather is certainly very nice, but I find it uncomfortable in summer when you sit on it with bare legs and end up sticking to it.I see it the same way.

Microfiber armchairs are much easier to maintain these days. Just wipe them once with a damp sponge, and most stains are gone. In more serious cases, a little dish soap does the trick, and it looks as good as new. From an animal welfare perspective, microfiber is also better, and it’s more comfortable too! So, no leather! 🙂

So, my parents have leather armchairs made from some kind of scratch-resistant leather (quite a thick, durable material). They’ve had cats for 20 years, and when we were kids, we couldn’t "destroy" them. They’ve always been very comfortable to sit on, even when it was warm.
