Hello,

we have the following issue. In the quote from our plumber, we had a Kaldewei Superplan measuring 90x110cm (35x43 inches) with Secure Plus and support frame, with a total cost of X. Later, based on the plumber’s advice, we changed the dimensions of the shower tray to 100x100cm (39x39 inches).

Now we have received the final invoice. I noticed that the Secure Plus option is no longer listed. When I asked, he told me that he installed the shower tray without Secure Plus. However, the price remains the same as in the original quote. He offered to apply the coating afterwards. I believe that a post-installation coating is far from ideal, since with Secure Plus the anti-slip coating is baked into the surface. A coating applied later needs to be renewed regularly, right?

Is this considered a defect? How should we evaluate this situation? I found online that the recommended retail price of the shower tray with the coating is about 500 euros more. Should we accept the post-installation coating, agree on the cost X and possibly negotiate a discount? Or should we insist on a replacement?

I would have them replaced, especially because of the statement that the price is the same...

I posted here first and then thought about posting in the green forum.

... and being subjected to the usual accusations. It’s quite funny how it basically comes down to checklists blaming YOU (of course) as solely responsible and at fault. You really can’t ask questions there unless you’re a “building expert” yourself and have sworn insurance proof confirming the involvement of various specialists.

I find the atmosphere there pretty bad.

Yes, I also filter the responses. Usually, you are initially responsible yourself, and if you have done some own work, it's still a mess.
I just wanted to know in which direction the general opinion is moving there.

PS: I also don’t like the atmosphere there. Apparently, there are only a handful of people who provide (proper) answers that are accepted, while the rest are doubted.
