Hello Dear Forum Members,
I plan to build a wooden house of about 32 sqm (344 sq ft) on a 150 sqm (1,615 sq ft) plot. The house will have a flat roof.
Since I am not very skilled at drawing and this is my first "house," I need some advice. The dimensions are intended to be 8 meters by 4 meters (26 ft by 13 ft), with the highest point at the front being 2.30 meters (7 ft 7 in) and sloping down to 2.20 meters (7 ft 3 in) at the back. How thick should the beams for the walls be? In the descriptions from mobile home manufacturers, structural timber sizes of 60 x 80 mm (2.4 x 3.1 inches) or 60 x 40 mm (2.4 x 1.6 inches) are mentioned.
My plan is to have an exterior wooden cladding profile, at least 40 mm (1.6 inches) of mineral wool insulation, then a vapor barrier foil, and finally drywall panels on the inside. Will this be sufficient?
The house should be livable since I intend to move in alone. There are probably many open questions; I will try to answer them as best as I can.
Best regards,
