SPATZ242Hello housebuilding friends,
we are planning to build a prefabricated house near Dresden. We prefer a shell-and-core house, because as a heating engineer, I don’t want any subcontractors working on this trade in our house. Also, for the KNX installation, I want to have a local contact person later on. Housebuilding companies, such as Gussek Haus and others, have a hard time dealing with KNX.
Does anyone have good experience with a local company in the Dresden area?
Many thanks in advance, Uli

I can’t recommend anything specific – although we built not too far away and also chose a prefabricated house, I handled all the KNX-related work myself. The prefab manufacturer did the wiring, and I supervised my electrician closely to ensure everything in the distribution board was correct. There is also a forum with those three letters, and within the KNX/UF local meetups section, there is one specifically for Dresden, which apparently a few people attend. Maybe you could check if any events are coming up or directly contact some of the users there?
Alternatively, it’s also possible to have your distribution board planned and assembled by companies operating nationwide – they deliver it basically ready to install (including actuators). SiwuPlan, for example, would be worth inquiring about. Then your electrician would just have to pull the cables and connect them to neatly labeled terminals in the distribution board – something almost anyone can do (provided they are willing).
