Hello everyone, I am currently working on assembling IKEA Platsa cabinets and have noticed that very different screw lengths are required. I am interested in knowing which screw lengths are most commonly used for IKEA Platsa, for example, for connecting the carcass parts, mounting the back panels, or attaching the feet. Specifically, which screw lengths should you definitely keep in stock when buying spare parts or expanding the system? I would appreciate any practical experience or exact information from the assembly instructions. Thanks in advance for your tips and advice!
I once had the problem of not noting down the screw lengths and ended up ordering half packages of every size – unnecessary small stuff! 😅
My tip:
- 16 mm (5/8 inch) for the standard connections, you basically always need these.
- 30 mm (1 1/4 inch) for the back panels (these are often very thin and don’t require longer screws).
- 50 mm (2 inches) for feet or when connecting multiple modules and you need extra stability.
If you want to approach this more relaxed, just order a bit more of the 16 mm (5/8 inch) and 30 mm (1 1/4 inch) sizes at the start – that way you’re covered. If you’re already planning extensions, the lengths usually stay the same, as REPITAR said. Good luck!
