Connilein26 Aug 2021 21:33Hello,
we want to skim coat our fairly smooth walls to prepare for fiberglass wallpaper. The surface is a gypsum plaster. Which joint compound would you recommend for this? Ideally, I would prefer a ready-mixed compound, but that’s not a strict requirement.
How should I apply the joint compound to a plastered wall?
Kind regards

We applied Q1 with Knauf Uniflott and then Q3/Q4 with Knauf Multifinish (both in powder form).
Another thing, please don’t take this the wrong way... Are you sure you can achieve a satisfactory Q3 finish? Since you’re asking about which compound to use, I assume you’ve never done this before. The results can sometimes be quite alarming when beginners handle a finishing compound for the first time (it was the same for us).
So, consider getting some help, at least for Q2 and Q3.
