Hello everyone,
We are in the process of replacing our windows and have now collected several quotes. It concerns 23 windows plus a front door, all triple-glazed. On the ground floor, there will be external venetian blinds and insect screens, and on the upper floor, roller shutters plus insect screens.
The scope of work is almost the same in all requests, and the suppliers/contractors do not differ much. Therefore, in the end, the deciding factor will be price/performance.
We did not have any special requirements regarding security.
I understand that the window profile manufacturer is only part of the overall quality. Ultimately, the hardware, installation method (use of compression tape), etc., also play a role.
To take the first step, we have now received the following offers, which I have summarized in the attachment, along with an example window for each (except number 5, as it has few details).
Do you see any favorites or any less favorable details?

Okay, thanks for the information.
I think that prepares me well.
One supplier once sent me example pictures of the installation with an exterior roller shutter, side extensions, compressible tape, and mounting foam.
Any concerns? That's interesting 🙂
But it would also be nice if someone could maybe add a comment on my topic 🙂
From the major extruder manufacturers, you can otherwise purchase an all-in-one solution. This includes the machinery, appropriate profile technology, and granulate. With this, anyone can produce a standard window profile up to current standards in their garage without research and development or extensive knowledge.
Is the window installer actually tasked with new construction windows or renovation windows? In the latter case, the size will probably be smaller than the original. This is because you want to avoid chipping and plastering work as much as possible. In addition, the actual rough opening dimensions are not necessarily known.
In such cases, installers tend to play it safe by ordering smaller windows, then generously filling with foam and finishing with trim.
Based on similar experiences in the basement, I decided to order and install my hallway windows myself.
I read the handbook from ift Rosenheim and tried to acquire the best possible layman knowledge.
At the top and sides, there is a combination compressible sealing tape from illbruck; beneath the windowsill, the matching foam. At the front, it is sealed weather-tight against driving rain with the system’s membrane, and afterwards everything is plastered and integrated into the existing insulation.
On the interior side, a special sealing compound is used to seal the joint at the windowsill, then plastered at the sides and top, and wallpapered.
No unsightly cover strips, but also a lot of work and mess, since the window opening was restored to rough opening level.
