Hello everyone,

I am currently planning a permanent storage solution for a large family’s bedroom using the Ikea PAX system. I am particularly interested in which combinations and configurations of PAX wardrobes work best for large families that require a lot of storage space, may want to remain flexible, and where several people can access their individual compartments simultaneously. Important aspects for me are:

- optimal room layout
- combinations of wardrobe widths and depths
- possible interior fittings for different needs (e.g., drawers, clothes rails, shelves)
- stability and space efficiency

Who has experience with large families and can offer practical advice on how to best use the PAX system to create storage that is both highly efficient and well organized? Thanks in advance for any input!

A cabinet becomes part of family life when everyone feels responsible for their area.

Brilliantly put!

And to lighten things up a bit: I think adding some color with storage baskets or bright boxes not only makes using the cabinet more organized but also brings a cheerful atmosphere.

Sure, Pax is functional, but when each section is visually appealing, it makes reaching into the cabinet a bit more enjoyable—especially with many people involved.

Another advantage: cleaning effort is reduced when everyone knows their spot and can quickly find what they need.
