Zip-Freak22 Feb 2015 19:11Hello everyone!
I am currently renovating my single-family house with about 140m² (1,507 sq ft) of living space. The gas connection has been newly installed (previously oil), and now a new condensing boiler is going to be installed.
The plumber sent two offers... one for the Viessmann Vidodens 222-F and the other for the Vitodens 333-F. The 333-F is about €500 more expensive, and now I’m wondering if it’s worth it.
Overview of the 222-F:
- Heating output 4.8–19 kW
- 100L (26 gallons) hot water tank – enamel-coated
The 333-F:
- Heating output 1.9–19 kW
- 100L (26 gallons) hot water tank – stainless steel
- Energy-saving high-efficiency pump (energy label A)
- Wireless control unit (or via smartphone app)
What I don’t know yet: the larger 343-F model is equipped with a control system for solar support... I’m not sure if solar will be added later. Could I also retrofit that with the 333-F if needed?
What are your experiences with these units? Have I understood correctly that only the 333-F can be controlled via an app? Is it possible to do without the separate remote control and operate solely with my smartphone? How much energy can actually be saved because the 333-F can operate at the lower capacity of 1.9 kW? What does the high-efficiency pump on the 333-F really save in electricity, or is that mostly marketing? Do people really use the wireless control (also via the internet) on the 333-F, or is it just a gimmick no one really needs?
I would really appreciate some help with this decision!
