ᐅ Which Heating System Is Best for a New Build?

I have a question for the experts.
We plan to build a 1.5-story timber frame house with a pitched roof. I am currently looking for the right heating system. We have decided to install a condensing boiler with a storage tank, combined with two solar collectors and a water-based fireplace stove. Underfloor heating will be installed on the ground floor. Radiators are planned for the upper floor and the children’s rooms. The bathroom will have a radiator return loop.

Does anyone have experience with this heating combination?
What would you recommend, and are there better alternatives?
Thank you very much

Hello,

I have already looked into this topic, and the system is roughly in place. It is important to make sure the fireplace does not overheat. If you want to use the water heating system intensively, you need to burn a good amount of wood. We need about 10 to 20 kg (22 to 44 lbs) of wood per day. An additional heating system is not necessary.

We chose a tiled stove with an additional afterburner. This heats the room with direct radiant heat. The afterburner channels store the energy for up to 12 hours and release it slowly. About 10 percent of the heat goes directly into the room, which is around 1.5 kW in a 65 m² (700 sq ft) room. Regarding cost recovery, it only pays off after about 20 years.

But that was not decisive, as I love heating the stove, and in the evening it creates a wonderful feeling.
Best regards
