We are building a new house and want to install a ventilation system. My question is, where is the best place to position the vents in the ceilings of the various rooms? Are there optimal spots? Or should they always be placed toward the center of the house to keep the exhaust duct as short as possible?
Thanks for the advice.

Bulla200024 Mar 2011 18:51How are you building? We are also using a mechanical ventilation with heat recovery system, and there was a specific ventilation plan from Pluggit, the manufacturer. They precisely define where the supply air and exhaust air openings should be, the required size of transfer openings, duct thickness, and so on.
In our case, all the supply air openings are located in the floor beneath the windows, while the exhaust air openings are, for example, in the ceiling above the kitchen area, in the bathroom side wall, and in the hallway of the attic.
