Hello,
I want to plant a natural hedge in my garden. Until now, I had a hedge made of conifers, but it doesn’t just look boring – it also acidifies the soil. What plants should be included in such a hedge? They should be shrubs or trees that are both attractive and useful!

Hello Ziegel,
A hedge made up only of conifers is certainly not very diverse.
First of all, variety plays a major role in making the hedge look more natural. Firethorn, sea buckthorn, and serviceberry are a good start. Hazelnut plants, which also produce edible nuts, would fit in well between them. To keep some greenery in the hedge during winter, you should also add holly.
I hope this is enough as a little suggestion; the main thing for a beautiful natural hedge is diversity.
