Hello everyone, I am currently planning to assemble an Ikea Platsa wardrobe system and want to place particular emphasis on the safety of the mounting. My specific question is: What is the safest fastening method for Ikea Platsa to prevent tipping or shifting, especially when securing the wardrobe to the wall? I have read that there are various options, including the standard wall mounting with anchors or screws, as well as additional reinforcements or special hooks. Which method has proven to be the most reliable and durable in practice, especially considering different wall materials such as concrete, drywall (plasterboard), or wood? I would be very grateful for any concrete experiences or precise tips.

Do you think it makes sense to always secure Platsa cabinets to the floor? Floor mounting is not mandatory, but it can improve stability for tall cabinets or under heavier loads. It is important that this attachment does not cause additional stress on the wall.

Does this apply if there is only a single drywall partition? For a single drywall partition without load-bearing elements, a timber support beam is the safest solution. High-quality drywall anchors are usually sufficient but may fail under dynamic or heavy loads. Installing a horizontal wooden mounting strip behind the drywall significantly increases safety and remains visually unobtrusive.
For maximum safety, it should also be considered that the Platsa units, once assembled, are best secured in a way that prevents significant leverage forces on the anchors.
