Hello everyone,
I am considering installing an air conditioning system in a timber frame house after construction. This requires running several pipes through the exterior wall.
How can I make this airtight and watertight?
(The copper pipes are already insulated on the roll, so relatively soft on the outside.)
And most importantly, how can I prevent condensation from forming?
On the inside, it's not a problem because I can connect directly to the vapor barrier. My main concern is that water might get in from the outside and soak the insulation.

I was thinking about running a water pipe through with a slight slope to the outside and sealing it with UV-resistant silicone. Then, all the multiple pipes and cables could be sealed completely with silicone to prevent water ingress.
1. Should I also insulate the pipe from the outside? There are those heavy black rubber mats available at hardware stores.
2. Before sealing the pipe with silicone, should I pack it with insulation material on the inside?

I have searched a lot online but found no clear answers.

Thank you very much for your advice!

I wouldn’t do that yourself. There’s a significant risk of creating a thermal bridge that, if you’re unlucky, could cause moisture buildup inside the wall before you even notice it. This can quickly lead to damage costing around €20,000. It’s better to pay a professional company a reasonable fee and have them handle it.

What I would suggest otherwise: Ask the house builder. We received instructions for many tasks on the house (like installing an awning, sun sail, carport, etc.). The company might also be willing to carry out the work themselves. That way, you’ll have people on site who know what they’re doing. They should be familiar with their own product.

So, the companies I asked all said the same thing,
We just foam it shut!!!!!
Or
The plasterer always "somehow seals it up."
That's why I want to do it myself.

.... I have contacted the home construction company and am still waiting for a response, but unfortunately, they do not do this—I have already inquired about it.
I also can’t find any suitable tips on this topic anywhere....
Thanks and best regards

What was the result? I am now facing the same problem. Or rather, I am just going to do it myself. My prefab house builder said that the pipe I run through the wall should be sealed on the outside with an SBS waterproof tape, and on the inside it should be connected to the vapor barrier foil.

But I would be very interested in your experience and exactly how you did it.
Thanks in advance.
