Good evening, I’m new here and have the following question:
Is it possible to place Vika tables under a glass top? The frame itself seems very sturdy to me. Although Ikea’s buying guide says it’s not possible, what exactly speaks against it?
I’m planning to have a 10mm (0.4 inch) thick glass top made, measuring 135 x 70 cm (53 x 28 inches), and I’m still looking for the optimal table legs for it.
However, I have no idea how wide the Vika tables actually are.
Ideally, Furusund or Alex (the narrower models) would be best, but then there wouldn’t be much space between the legs.
Maybe someone here has some advice or can offer some other tips.
Thanks in advance,
Bruenor

Maverick185422 Dec 2009 07:28Hello,
how do you want to attach the legs to the table?
If I understand correctly, these are only the folding legs without the tabletop. So, if you can tell me how you plan to attach the glass tabletop to the legs...
Best regards, Maverick1854

How embarrassing ;-)
But I could only find this "buyer's guide" as a PDF online. It contains great drawings (of course small), which I absolutely could not associate with a folding frame...
Of course, I won't glue the glass panel to it. So I guess that's a no-go for now...
Thanks anyway,
bruenor
