The shell of the house is complete and the electrical wiring has already been installed. Now we are trying to decide which video intercom system would be suitable for our semi-detached house.
The market is extremely flooded with systems ranging from 100 to 3000€ (approximately 110 to 3300 USD), so there is a lot to choose from.
We are looking for a video intercom system with one outdoor unit, two indoor units, and one chime.
Our house uses a traditional electrical system, so no KNX, but we have several network outlets and Wi-Fi planned.
The front door will have an electric door strike but no fingerprint access.
One feature we have heard a lot about that might be interesting is the ability to receive a video or photo notification on a smartphone whenever someone rings the bell (I think this is called Doorbird).
However, we find the option to open the door via smartphone quite impractical nowadays, considering how easy it is to hack almost anything with minimal effort.
Does anyone have experience with specific models or could provide some tips or product recommendations? We would prefer a product with a good price-performance ratio.
