Hello everyone,
I would like to install a video camera at our front door to see who is outside. However, there is no power supply there, only the usual "doorbell wire" that currently connects the doorbell.
What I’m looking for is a simple battery-powered camera (with a monitor included for wireless transmission) that can be triggered via radio signal or WiFi so it turns on and lets you see who is at the door.
I’ve already searched online but haven’t found anything suitable.
Alternatively, it might be possible to replace our current doorbell with another system, but it would need to run on the power provided through the doorbell wiring.
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Sebastian

With the Reolink, you can’t just check what’s going on outside the door at any time, right? That means it only takes a photo or video when the motion sensor is triggered?
Or can you access the live stream from the camera via your phone?

Hello everyone,
I would like to install a video camera at our front door to see who is standing there. However, we don’t have any power supply there (only the usual doorbell wire, which is currently connected to the doorbell).
My preference is a simple battery-powered camera (with a monitor included for wireless transmission) that can be triggered via wireless/WiFi so it turns on and shows who is at the door.
I have already searched extensively online but haven’t found anything suitable.
Alternatively, it might be possible to replace our current doorbell with another system. However, it would have to work with the power from the doorbell wire...
I would be very grateful for any tips and information.
Best regards
Sebastian Hmm... not sure what to make of you not being able to google :-p
So, two options:
- One Ring Doorbell Pro and one Echo Show 2 or smartphone. If you want full data tracking :-p
Or
- Arlo Pro and Echo Show 2 or smartphone.
I bought the doorbell myself.
But if you can’t google, better to leave it then.

Or can you access the camera’s live stream via smartphone?Actually, you can. The app allows you to watch the live stream with audio on your smartphone or iPad.
The events recorded by the camera can also be accessed through the app.
